The unprecedented COVID-19 (Coronavirus) pandemic has caused significant changes to all our lives, including business operations here at IFS.

The number one priority of IFS remains the safety and well-being of our students, staff, and community. With information from the CDC, State Department, and Bahamas Government, IFS has developed new policies and procedures at Forfar Field Station to ensure a safe environment for all who will visit. These policies involve social distancing of groups, facial covering rules, new disinfecting measures, and more.

Forfar Field Station is Clean & Pristine certified by The Bahamas Ministry of Tourism & Aviation Hotel Licensing Department. Forfar meets all the guidelines and mandates set out by The Bahamas Ministry of Health and will follow the protocols set by The Ministry of Health with regards to guest symptoms or exposure.

IFS plans to welcome our Fall 2020 and Spring 2021 cohorts for the Forfar Marine Science Program. We are currently scheduling small educational school groups and family groups for the 2020-2021 season. Anyone wishing to visit with their school, family, or alumni group, should contact us if they have not already to secure dates.

Now more than ever, we strongly recommend travel insurance. Participants should review our Medical, Travel, and Dive Insurance blog post for updated information and advice.
