Overview
Dive into a one-of-a-kind underwater adventure where passion meets purpose. This hands-on SCUBA experience builds the skills and confidence to actively participate in coral reef restoration—from nursery care to outplanting—making a real, visible impact.
Designed for divers seeking more than a vacation, this program turns you from observer to ocean advocate—all while enjoying incredible time underwater.
You’ll also have the opportunity to earn your PADI Reef Rescue Diver Certification.
Beyond restoration, you’ll also explore the famous dive sites off the coast of Andros, including sections of the world’s third-largest fringing barrier reef, which stretches nearly 100 miles both north and south.

Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival - Welcome evening and settle into cabins
Day 2: Refresh and Coral Reef Diving - Refresher/check out dive and a dive near the coral nursery - afternoon land excursion or relaxing around the field station
Day 3: Coral Planting and Afternoon Dive - Dives at the Forfar Field Station Coral Nursery Site, gaining hands on guidance and experience planting the corals you collect from the nursery - afternoon fun dive - evening shark conservation presentation and optional basket weaving class with local artist.
Day 4: Coral Planting and Shark Conservation Dive - continue your skills by planting corals from the nursery onto the nearby reef during morning dives. Afternoon dive completing the first of your AWARE Share Conservation specialty dive.
Day 5: Coral Planting, Shark Conservation, and Afternoon Land Adventure - complete your coral restoration skills assisting in the coral nursery followed by a second AWARE Share Conservation specialty dive. Afternoon option of relaxing with leisure acitivites around the station or heading out with the Forfar Staff to a Mangrove Snorkel.
Day 6: Adventure Diving and Inland Blue Hole Adventure - Morning adventure dives exploring new reef sites and in the afternoon join the Forfar Staff on a trip to visit one of Andros Islands iconic Blue Holes. An afternoon of site seeing, swimming and relaxing.
Day 7: By Land or By Sea, Enjoy a Day of Adventure - Spend a full day on the boat, snorkeling vibrant reefs—including a stunning oceanic blue hole teeming with fish, finger corals, and even nudibranchs. Enjoy lunch on a secluded cay with classic Bahamian views, then head back out to explore another reef site. Evening bonfire with smores while listening to field station stories.

Alex Frans
Alex Frans
Alex Frans is a PADI Instructor Development Course Staff Instructor and Coral Restoration Specialist with several years of experience within the scuba diving industry and managing coral restoration projects. Alex has dedicated her career to diver training ranging from introductory diving to professional level divers with a focus on specialties in marine conservation. Alex specializes in training recreational divers in Dive Against Debris, Coral Nursery Restoration, Sea Turtle Awareness, Fish Identification and Shark Conservation. As a PADI Reef Rescue Diver Specialty Instructor Alex has extensive experience providing training to divers to learn about coral restoration and the skills required for general nursery maintenance and outplanting. Additionally, Alex provides expertise in coral nursery establishment and her knowledge of the diving industry assists our partners in the marketing of their coral restoration programs.
Anwar Godet
Anwar Godet
Anwar Godet is a PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer and currently a Research Technician for the Perry Institute for Marine Science. Anwar was born and raised in the Bahamas and has been diving for over 20 years. Throughout his many years of diving Anwar has seen the direct impact the deterioration of coral reefs has had on the marine environment. He has since dedicated his diving career to teaching other divers the importance of marine conservation through an array of conservation specialties. These specialties include Project AWARE Shark Conservation, Reef Rescue Diver, Fish Identification, and Sea Turtle Awareness.
As a Bahamian Anwar strives to reverse the decline of coral reefs to not only protect the Island nation he calls home, but to preserve the natural underwater beauty for generations to come. He currently works alongside PIMS scientists in the field on the Stony Coral Tissue Loss Disease Task Force, and on coral restoration efforts throughout the Reef Rescue Network.
Program Cost: $2,850 Adults / $2,550 Kids (under 12)
What’s included: lodging, meals*, roundtrip flight from Nassau to Andros, transportation from Andros airport to the Forfar, 12 Dives (Refresh, Exploration, and Restoration), all dive equipment including tanks, weights and weight belts, all additional land and snorkel excursions, Reef Rescue Diver Manual, PADI Reef Rescue Diver Certification and Reef Rescue Network T-Shirt.
*We can accommodate some dietary restrictions such as dairy-free, gluten-free, vegetarian, vegan, etc.
What’s not included: Flight to Nassau, Bahamas, incidentals, packing list items*, health insurance (required), travel insurance (strongly recommended, not required), and a couple dinner’s out to local establishments.
*A packing list will be provided so you will know what personal gear you'll need to bring.
Accomodations: Participants will be staying at Forfar Field Station located on Andros Island in The Bahamas. The Field Station is a rustic former dive resort nestled on a beachfront coconut grove on the east coast of the island. Our cabins are rustic, and each cabin has 3-4 sets of bunk beds, electricity, fans, and a private bathroom with hot water and a shower. Wifi is available in our lodge for all guests.
